Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday detained more than 50 suspects in connection with the investigation of the recent terror attack on a bus carrying pilgrims in the valley’s Reasi district. A police spokesperson said that after the investigation conducted by the police and security forces, important clues have been found from the people detained, which has helped in identifying and arresting the conspirators of the attack.

The police spokesperson said that a large-scale search operation was launched after the terror attack. It has been revealed that on Sunday (9 June) evening, a 53-seater bus carrying pilgrims to the Mata Vaishno Devi temple in Katra was attacked by terrorists, after which the bus fell into a ditch, killing 9 people including a minor and injuring 41 others. The bus was carrying pilgrims from Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Delhi.

 

After this attack, the security forces had started a large-scale search operation. The purpose of the search operation is to collect evidence and reach the terrorists who may be hiding in these remote areas.

The police spokesperson said that the law enforcement agencies are committed to bring the criminals to justice and ensure the safety of all the residents and tourists of the area.

Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Police has also released sketches of 4 terrorists involved in the attack in Doda district. Along with this, a reward of Rs 20 lakh has been announced for the information leading to their arrest.

Rashmika Mandanna, an actress, sent a heartbreaking comment on social media, saying, “Hurts my heart reading about this; so many innocent lives gone. My sincere sympathies to all of the victims and their families. I’m praying for everyone who has been harmed to recover quickly.”

Varun Dhawan voiced his grief on social media, writing, “Devastated by the heinous attack on innocent pilgrims in Reasi. I strongly condemn this horrible terrorist attack. I am praying for the departed spirits.”

 


Veteran actor Anupam Kher reacted to Twitter to express his sorrow, writing, “Angry, Pained, and Saddened by the cowardly attack on pilgrims in Reasi.” Jammu! May the Almighty give the victims’ loved ones the strength to face their pain and loss. Praying for the injured’s swift recovery.”
