The Lok Sabha Elections 2024 vote count on June 4 will determine India’s political landscape for the next five years. Political pundits will pay close attention to the vote total in Uttar Pradesh, which has the most seats in the Lok Sabha (80).
The INDIA alliance leads with 43 seats, while the BJP leads with 34. What has astonished political observers is the strong resurgence of Akhilesh Yadav’s Samajwadi Party, which is putting up a fight with the saffron party in the state. The Samajwadi Party fielded five members of the Yadav family in the general elections. Akshay Yadav, Dimple Yadav, Akhilesh Yadav, and Dharmendra Yadav lead their respective constituencies.
The counting of ballots for the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 has begun, deciding the destiny of candidates for 542 of the 543 Parliamentary seats. The postal ballot counting begins first.
The state is also home to constituencies with high-profile candidates, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Rajnath Singh, Smriti Irani, Rahul Gandhi, Akhilesh Yadav, Dimple Yadav, Dharmendra Yadav, etc.
A total of 851 candidates, including 771 men and 80 women, contested the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 in Uttar Pradesh. The maximum number of candidates (28) contested the general elections in the Ghosi Lok Sabha constituency and the minimum of four in Kaiserganj.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi stood for Lok Sabha from the Varanasi constituency in Uttar Pradesh. Union Minister Rajnath Singh is running for re-election to the Lok Sabha from the Lucknow constituency. Rahul Gandhi faced Dinesh Pratap Singh of the BJP in the Lok Sabha election from Raebareli. Tomorrow’s vote count will also determine the fate of SP supremo Akhilesh Yadav, who ran in the Lok Sabha elections from Kannauj against BJP candidate Subrat Pathak. Leaders Dimple Yadav and Dharmendra Yadav are also involved.

Uttar Pradesh had a 56.92% voter turnout in the seven rounds of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, a 2.19% decrease from previous elections.
