An influencer on social media is receiving death threats for performing yoga at Golden Temple.

On Yoga Day on 21 June 2024, a social media influencer and fashion designer living in Gujarat, Archana Makwana, visited the Golden Temple in Punjab and performed some poses to make Yoga Day special and performing yoga. And he posted the photos of performing yoga poses’s photo on her social media accounts and the people of Punjab created a lot of uproar over this.

Whose point is that these are things beyond their limits and all this cannot be done in Gurudwara? And on the other hand, Punjab police had filed an FIR against that girl on the 22nd, and on the other hand, the people of Punjab had also started threatening Archana openly.

The result was that Gujarat police had to provide police protection to Archana and she was told to stay in her home for a few days or until the matter cools down. She is still receiving threats of killing her for going out of the house, raping her, and kidnapping her. Seeing this matter getting serious, Archana is continuously trying to convey the message of regret to all Sikh community members through stories on her social media account, but no result of this is coming out.

SGPC, while interfering in this matter, said that this is against their sentiments and that all this will not be ignored, expressing its displeasure and saying this, lodged another case against Archana on the same day. And it is believed that the entire Sikh community is with SGPC and is supporting them because now according to them this is against the honour of their Guru Ramdas Ji. And now, he will not tolerate any action taken against him or his dignity.

Peoples Opinion On Performing Yoga In Golden Temple.

There are two sides of the opinion on this matter, one believes that all this was not correct and was unethical, the other side thinks that it was right and Archana has not done anything wrong in this. Both Pakshoon have given their opinion on their own will on social media handles. On the basis of his opinions it has come to light that Archana has not done these yoga poses at all to reach anyone’s heart, her idea was only to performing yoga on Yoga Day. And the Sikh community and the SGPC have taken the consequences of this in a shameful manner.

About some other activities that happened recently in the Gurudwara

Many news channels are broadcasting this incident and saying whether this thing is right or wrong or what actions are being taken regarding this and what are not being taken. But the issue here is that if performing yoga in the Gurudwara is illegal then why is it right to offer Namaz on Eid.

If Guru Ramdas ji’s image and ethics are being propagated through performing yoga poses and it is against his ethics, then why is it right to offer Namaz in the Gurudwara? Are all these activities not against the ethics of Guru Ramdas ji or the Sikh community?

And let us keep this matter aside and think about it, just a few days ago a Hindu girl was stopped from entering a Gurudwara only because she was a Hindu. Are all these activities not against the ethics of the Sikh gurus? So in my opinion, if it is wrong to performing yoga by doing Yoga poses, then it is also wrong to offer Namaz and not let a Hindu girl go inside just because she is a Hindu.

Is this issue related to politics or not?

It is believed that this issue can be completely related to politics because if we look at the recent incidents, many people or leaders have tried to incite the people of Punjab or the Sikh community and many are gangsters. And the singers are together praising Khalistan. Many videos went viral on social media in which a Sikh guy was also seen saying that this is not India, this is a different country “Punjab”.

And somewhere else, the case of the female CRPF officer who slapped Kangana Ranaut is also being said to be related to this. Kangana had also said very bad things against Khalistan or those who believed in Khalistan. So all these matters are also related to this ward. And if one looks at the people then one realises that all this is a political issue which is being used to fool people at the cost of their lives.
