Why do people go to Tungnath and Chandrashila Temple?

In Trek of Tungnath And Chandrashila Temple : According to Hindu mythological stories, when the Pandavas won the war of Mahabharata, and left Kurukshetra and went to Hastinapur. After the coronati0n of Yudhishthir’s kingdom. Krishna Ji and Rishi Ved Vyas Ji told the Pandavas about the sin they had committed. On hearing this the Pandavas were surprised and started praying to Krishna Ji that Lord we fought the war to save our Hastinapur and our Dharma. Then what kind of sin was this?

Krishan ji replied that this was a war of Dharma. But the Pandavas who were killed by you in this war were from your own clan.  They were your own brothers and only Lord Shiva can solve the problem of murder of the clan. So you should go to the Himalayas and do penance for him and destroy your sins by pleasing him.

Pandava renounced his royal path and moved towards the Himalayas and reached Uttarakhand. But Lord Shiva was angry with them and did not want to give them darshan. So, seeing the Pandavas coming, he disguised himself as a bull and went and hid in the crowd of animals. But Pandava was also very clever, he had also acquired many achievements and powers, so Bheem spread his legs and all the animals came out from under his legs.

But when the Shiva in the form of a bull did not come out from under his feet. Then the Pandavas understood and started running towards him, and then he appeared in front of the ground. But the Bheem caught hold of his back and started pulling him. So he divided his share into 5 parts and Tungnath is situated on separate hills of the Himalayas and here are the temples of Lord Shiva. And this is the reason why people go to Tungnath ji and respect him so much.

MY EXPERIENCE AT Trek of Tungnath And Chandrashila Temple

As I told you in the story of Kedarnath after Kedarnath I will leave for Tungnath, so this is the story further.

Day 4     JUNE 13TH 2021 CONTINUED:

After descending from the 22 km climb of Kedarnath, we both had dinner packed our scooter, and left for Chopta. So after about 62 kilometers of route we. Reached Chopta.  We decided to stay at Bharat Sevadham Ashram that evening for stay and both of us had our dinner there and then rested there till tomorrow.

Day 5    JUNE’14TH’2021:

The very next day, both of us woke up early and took a bath and without having breakfast, we both left for Tungnath. So we took our necessary things with us and left for Tungnath. Where we learned that Tungnath was situated at the highest altitude. There is a temple of Lord Shiva situated in beautiful view. And the first thing we read while climbing was this note.

Then without any delay, both of us started our climb and we were walking intermittently like fellas because even though the climb of Tungnath is 8 kilometers. It is a very straight and upward climb and it is also easy to do. It did not happen but we took a lesson from the climb of Kedarnath and this time we started the climb comfortably after climbing for about 2-3 hours we reached the temple and worshiped in the temple of Mahadev.

CHANDRASHILA

Then we went to the temple of Maa Gaura situated above Tungnath, whose name is Chandrashila, and according to our Hindu Puranas, this is where Lord Ram also did penance. After climbing about 1 kilometer, we reached the top of Chandrashila.

As soon as we reached there, both I and my friend were stunned as to how amidst so many clouds. All those Himalayan mountains and so much greenery, I could see that sight. I can’t explain it in words, I was definitely captured by the camera.

After taking some videos and photos and after assuring our minds that we would come again because we felt like telling that guy. After that we went back down and then we had breakfast and we left for our place. We went towards the ashram where we were staying and had our lunch and then we decided that now we would go back to Noida, so for the last time on this trip.  We packed our luggage on our scooter and we left back for Noida. But we have kept this memorable journey in our hearts like a wonderful memory, and now no matter how many times we go, this journey will remain very memorable for me.
