Final Result Of Lok Sabha Election 2024

The Election Commission of India has published results for 542 out of 543 Lok Sabha constituencies, with the BJP gaining 240 seats and the Congress 99.

The BJP’s victory total was significantly lower than its 303-seat total in 2019 and 282 seats in 2014. The Congress, on the other hand, saw significant increase, obtaining 99 seats, up from 52 in 2019 and 44 in 2014. The INDIA bloc surpassed 230 votes, posing fierce competition and surprising all exit poll projections.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has won a third term, but the BJP will require the cooperation of other parties in his alliance, including JD(U) president Nitish Kumar and TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu.

Following the counting of votes in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP fell 32 seats shy of the 272 majority level. For the first time since the Bharatiya Janata Party came to office in 2014, it did not win a majority by itself.

Meanwhile, the opposition INDIA group will hold a meeting today, with Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge inviting alliance leaders to his house. Following a successful conclusion in the LS polls, the leaders of the INDIA alliance will plan their future steps.
