AFTER POWERPLAY

After a very bad start in the powerplay. MI needed a big partnership as they had already lost their 4 important wickets, that partnership helped N. Vadhera and Opening to hold one end. Kishan came in between but despite that partnership. But it did not make much difference to LSG as they did not concede many runs on the last ball of the 14th over. Kishan also got out while playing a big shot off the ball of R. Bishnoi and after 14 overs MI could score only 83 runs half of their team had reached the pavilion.  That wicket by LSG gave a lead in this MI vs LSG match and made it interesting.

After that N. Vadhera started playing some shots because now only a few overs were left in MI’s innings. But Mohsin bowled a good yorker to him as well and he would have a good innings of 46 runs. But after that in the 19th over. M. Nabi was also bowled by Mayank Yadav and he too could score only 1 run. After that T. David also played some very big shots and took the team to a respectable score. So MI scored only 144 runs in their 20 overs and gave LSG a target of 145.

SECOND INNING

POWERPLAY

In this MIvs LSG, Before the second innings started, experts were talking about the fact that if MI had to win this match. Then LSG wickets would have to be taken in the powerplay, and this is what was seen happening because, on the third ball of the first over, N. Tushara dismissed opening batsman Kulkarni.

He took him out and sent him to the pavilion. But after that wicket, LSG did not give any chance to MI bowlers in powerplay but also made a lot of runs. M. Stoinis and KL Rahul handled the LSG innings. LSG used its powerplay well and put MI on the back But LSG was at the loss of 1 wicket for 52 runs.

AFTER POWERPLAY

After a good start in the powerplay, LSG had to continue their rhythm and take the team forward and for some time they were unsuccessful in doing that.

But on the 2nd ball of the 8th over KL was out on the boundary line while playing a big shot off  Hardik and he contributed 28 runs in 22 balls. After that D. Hooda and M. Stoinis who were already present at the crease continued to score runs and never let it feel like the wicket had fallen in just a moment.

This partnership between the two lasted till the 13th over because, on the first ball of the 14th over, D. Hooda hit a big shot off Hardik’s ball and got caught out and he contributed only 18 runs. And in the same over of Hardik, M. Stoinis also completed his half-century with a single, after that, he started batting more openly and brought the match in his team’s favor.

But while trying to hit a big shot on M. Nabi’s ball he got caught out on the boundary line and he played an important innings of 62 runs in just 45 balls. After that both the batsmen did not come to the crease so MI created some pressure on them and kept the score at bay for some time.

And because of that on the first ball of the 18th over Coetzee dismissed A. Turner and he could score only 5 runs and returned to the pavilion. But after that, Ayush Badhoni hit three boundaries in that over. He got run out on the first ball of the next over.
