FIRST INNINGS

Powerplay

DC won the toss and decided to bat first and they tried to start an attacking attack but unfortunately in the 2nd over itself, P. Shaw got an edge on a ball going down the leg and he got out on Vaibhav’s ball and he could contribute only 13 runs in 7 balls after that McGurk tried a bit and hit 2-3 good shots but he too while trying to hit a big shot got out in the 3rd over on M. Starc’s ball and his contribution was also only 12 runs in 7 balls.

Then in the 4th over, Vaibhav took another wicket and bowled S. Hope and he too was out after scoring 6 runs in just 3 balls, after that, there was a little partnership between DC’s captain R. Pant and Porel and they were unsuccessful in taking shots in the powerplay and made 67 runs at the end of the powerplay but at the loss of 3 wickets.

After Powerplay

After losing 3 wickets in the powerplay, DC needed a partnership but in the 7th over itself, Harshit Rana bowled Porel and he too made only 18 runs in 14 balls. In the 9th over Harshit Rana dropped the catch of DC captain Rishabh Pant on the ball of V. Chakraborty who was also in great shape but he could not take advantage of that survival because he could make only 27 runs in 19 balls off the ball of Vaibhav in the 11th over. And DC had lost 93 runs and 5 wickets at that time.

After that in the very next over T. Stubbs also caught the ball of Chakraborty. He was out after scoring 4 runs in 6 balls and KKR had put DC on the backfoot and at that time the situation was in KKR’s control, then a series of wickets fell continuously.

In the 14th over N. Narine also dismissed Axar and he too could score only 15 runs in 20 balls, in the 15th over K.Kushagra also got out on just 1 run, after that K.Yadav also tried to score some runs and KKR gave some runs through extras but then in the 19th over R.Salam also got out and he too could score only 8 runs but K.Yadav’s courageous 35-run innings came to an end in which DC scored 153 runs at the loss of 9 wickets.

SECOND INNING

Powerplay

When KKR came to bat, everyone was confident that this score would be very easy for KKR because most of their batters were also in foam and the same was visible as P. Salt and S. Narine had scored 23 runs in the first over and the catch of P. Salt on the second over’s first ball was dropped and then after that he made full use of that chance and scored a lot of runs in the powerplay and he completed his half-century in 26 balls within the powerplay itself and KKR’s score after the powerplay was 79 runs without losing a single wicket.
