In Ire vs Ind Live Match Today.
BEFORE MATCH
This match was the first match of this World Cup for both the teams and this match was very important for both the teams because no one wanted to start this World Cup with a defeat. In this match, it was expected that India will dominate and win but at the same time Ireland will give some tough competition to India and they will not accept defeat like this.
FIRST INNING
POWERPLAY
After winning the toss, Captain R. Sharma invited Ireland to bat first as he did not have a good idea of the pitch and he did not want to take any risk in the first match. And whatever happens, it is something because from the very first over the ball was swinging too much and the pitch was also having uneven bounce which was becoming very difficult for the batsmen to predict. So the Indian bowlers took advantage of this because Arshdeep got P. Striling out. He could score only 2 runs.
And in the 3rd over itself, Arshdeep took another wicket by bowling outswinging ball to A. Balbirni. And he too got out on a personal score of just 5 runs. Arshdeep sent both the openers to the pavilion in one over and gave a good start to India. But after that, during the entire powerplay, Ireland’s batters took charge and batted. And at the end of the powerplay, Ireland’s score was only 26 runs and that too at the loss of 2 wickets.
AFTER POWERPLAY
After the powerplay it seemed that now the ball would hit a little less and the batters would be able to play their shots a little more easily, but nothing like that happens. Because after the powerplay, in the 7th over, H. Pandya takes the wicket of L. Tucker on an excellent delivery after clean bowled him. After that C. Campher came to the crease started his innings by hitting a four on the first ball. But that did not help either, because in the very next over Captain Sharma called J. Bumrah to bowl and in his first over he top edged L. Tector with a good bouncer and caught him easily. He too was able to score only 4 runs.
This sequence was continuing that in this very over C. Campher hit a brilliant six off H. Pandya’s ball but in the same over H. Pandya also got C. Campher out on the outside edge and continued the sequence of wickets of Ireland’s team. He was out after scoring just 12 runs. Even after losing so many wickets the Ireland team did not play even a bit of defensive cricket. They kept losing their wickets in the process of constantly attacking and scoring runs.
And the result of that was that G. Dockrell also got out while playing a big shot in the 10th over. And I could make only 3 runs. And this sequence continued and even after that wickets kept falling. So M. Adair in the 11th over, B. McCarthy in the 12th over, J. Little in the 15th over, and G. Delany in the 16th over also got out after scoring very low scores. Those four batters scored 03, 0, 14, 26 runs respectively. And gave India a target of only 97 runs.
SECOND INNING
POWERPLAY
After the first innings it was clear that if no miracle happened then India would definitely win this match. But if Ireland has to fight back then they will have to show their strength with their bowling. Ireland team comes to bowl and in the very first over M. Adair bowled a good outswinging ball and R. Sharma’s slip catch went close to the slip but they dropped the catch. And Ireland had to bear the brunt of his mistake as after that R. Sharma had hit 2 fours and a six in the 9th over. But V. Kohli also while trying to play a big shot got caught by the third man fielder. He could make just 1 run.
After that R. Pant came to the crease and as soon as he came he hit a four on the second ball. Even after that the ball kept moving continuously but both the batters were respecting the good balls and were hitting the bad balls to make them run. And due to this, India was able to score 36 runs in its 6 overs after losing one wicket.
AFTER POWERPLAY
Even after the powerplay, Captain R. Sharma and R. Pant continued their batting and along with playing carefully, they were also scoring runs. And in the same middle, R. Sharma completed his half-century in just 36 balls by hitting 2 consecutive fours and a six in the 9th over. But the ball hit his elbow early in the morning and he retired hurt after the drinks break. But even after that, R. Pant’s dangerous batting continued and he kept scoring runs continuously.
But Surya Kumar Yadav, who had just come to the crease, got out while trying to hit a six as the team needed 6 runs to win and he got out while trying to do the job in style. But this work was done by R. Pant, who had reached the crease early and was batting well. He hits a six the 3rd ball of the 13th over and gave victory to the Indian team. And India won this match by 8 wickets.
POTM: J. BUMRAH FOR HIS SPECTACULAR BOWLING PERFORMANCE. 2/6 IN 4 OVERS.
