Supreme Court reprimanded the Delhi government for the illegal felling of trees in the reserve forest of Delhi
The Supreme Court reprimanded the upper Delhi government for illegal felling of trees planted in the reserved forest area without approval. It is believed that more than 1100 trees of the reserve forest have been cut illegally. The Delhi government has also put forth its stand on this issue and said that we have said on this issue that we will take strict action on this.
After this issue became serious and came under the scrutiny of the Supreme Court, Environment and Forest Minister Gopal Rai called an emergency meeting of the Forest Department and he strictly said that he needs all the information on this issue and also all the records and status reports till now. of it. For this he has given one day’s time to the forest department, that is, he has given time till tomorrow morning at 11 am Friday.
This entire case is about DDA’s illegal felling of trees.
The Supreme Court has paid a lot of attention to the issue. An NGO filed an anonymous petition regarding the reserve forest.
A few days ago, an NGO filed a petition in the Supreme Court and in that petition, they told that illegal felling of trees in Delhi Reserve Forest and the count of trees cut has now reached 1100. Trees have been cut illegally in such a large amount that anyone cutting trees in such a large amount needs to get permission.
And seeing this petition, the Supreme Court has summoned the Forest and Environment Minister and the Delhi Government and asked them to take action on this issue. Because till now the Forest Department has not taken any action on cutting trees without permission.
Further information: NGO have informed that after the news of the cutting of trees, the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) went to the Supreme Court to seek permission to cut trees. But DDA did not tell the court that they had started cutting the pedicures themselves. And because of this, they have violated the government law.
On the request of the NGO, the Supreme Court asked DDA that only the Supreme Court gives permission to illegal felling of trees, so with whose permission did you cut the trees? And now you are coming with a request because your theft has been caught?
Delhi government has also taken up this matter with great strength after the action of the Supreme Court. It has come to light that after the decision of the Supreme Court on Wednesday, the Supreme Court itself reprimanded the Delhi government and asked why no action was taken against you for illegal felling of trees. The Delhi government did not take any decision even after being informed about this issue.

And it was said that why no action was taken against DDA even though they had all the information of illegal felling of trees.
